Today at Joy School we did puzzles and building with blocks for free play.
We learned about the letter Y. We had the letter Y on Yellow paper and laced with Yarn. The kids did a great job! It was so fun to hear some of them say,"I need help" and then when I assured them they were doing it just fine they continued on. They did great!
We then talked about ladybugs. We read a book about the lifecycle of a ladybug.
We practiced sequencing by putting in order the ladybug's life cycle. We strung the pictures in order on a string. Please read right to left for this one.
It was time for the kids to make their own ladybugs. This was a fun project! The kids did a great job.

For our snack, we had Yogurt and goldfish crackers. (The goldfish had nothing to do with the theme. They are just a favorite and easy.)
We wrapped up the day by reading The Very Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carle and talked about how the Grouchy Ladybug wasn't very caring, but the friendly ladybug was because she shared. We talked about respecting other people and how the Grouchy Ladybug wasn't very respectful because he wanted to fight everyone. The kids loved this book. Sorry it is tilted.
